HUMAN FACTORS LABORATORY

Department of Psychology
Morehead State University

Welcome to the website for the Human Factors Laboratory at
Morehead State University

The field of Human Factors is concerned with the interaction between people and the items that people use.  Research in Human Factors has the goals of increasing performance, increasing safety, and improving comfort. Data obtained from research studies are used to inform product design.  The research conducted in our laboratory ranges from issues concerned with basic perceptual/cognitive processes to issues concerned with everyday types of environments such as workplace layout.
We are located in eastern Kentucky, 60 miles east of Lexington and border the Cumberland District of the Daniel Boone National Forest.  This region is noted for its outdoor activities.  There are some pictures of the region located on the Lab Pictures page.

The following videos provide more information on Human Factors and its relation to Psychology.
